All about Bekah

Bekah loves to dance!! She dances to all music, every time something with music comes on. It is so cute to watch her. Her two favorite movies right now are Cars and Happy Feet. She dances to the music in them all the time. While she's watching Happy Feet she is actually trying to dance like Mumble. It is adorable!! I can't wait till she's old enough to enroll in dance class. :~)
We also recently rearranged some things in the living room and "office" to create a play room for the girls. The room will continue to have the futon for guests to sleep on, but will no longer have any office things. The printers will now be housed in another part of the house. As it is, we are always sitting at the kitchen table on the computer anyway.

Bye, Bye Matt and Amy

Matt and Amy,
It has been really great getting to know both of you over the last year. We met you when you were just dating, then you got engaged, then we were blessed to be able attend your beautiful wedding.
We love you and will miss you very, very much!! Keep in touch and take care of that baby. We can't wait to see he/she after it is born!! Call us any time you need ANYTHING!!

Excersaucer Fun and eating Rice Cereal

"Cool!!! This is pretty fun!! So many more things to look at. I was getting tired of laying back in my bouncy seat and papsan. Thanks Mom and Dad for cleaning it off after Dad left it out behind the shed in the elements for the past year."

"Yum, this is really interesting. I wonder if this is what Mommy and Daddy are eating with spoons sometimes?! It is really different than my bottles, but I think I just want to chew on the spoon."

One Quick thing

No accidents today!!!

Panties all day and no problems. Even a time when we were out and I asked her if she had to go and she said YES!!!

Nap Notes

EVERYONE else in the house is napping EXCEPT me, so I will give you a few praises and prayer requests from this week.

Praises:

1)Two mornings in a row Bekah has woken up completely dry!!
2)This morning, I was sitting at the computer and the monitor was on next to me because Sarah was napping. I heard someone going to the bathroom. I assumed it was Bobby. I called his name. He answered over the monitor because he was in Bekah/Sarah's room changing Sarah's diaper. The person going to the bathroom was Bekah. She had gone into the bathroom, took her panties off, went, then preceeded to wipe herself and wash her hands!! We're making progress!!
3)Our friend Jean graduated with her masters in Library Science from EKU yesterday. Congrats Jean!! We are going to a little dessert reception in honor of her tonight.

Prayer Requests:
1)Our dear friends Matt and Amy are moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota early next week. Matt just finished his Masters from UK in May, and he got a job out there. Pray for their safety as well as their baby that Amy is carrying. She is due Dec. 27. We are very sad to see them go. We will really miss seeing the baby when it's brand new.
2)My toe.
3)Sarah is teething. She has one poking through on the bottom. She's had her hand in her mouth a lot the last few days. She has been grumpy in the evenings.
4)School starts 2 weeks from Wed. I don't want to go. I've had 18 weeks off, and I am not ready to go back. I don't think Bobby's ready to have the girls by himself either.

Have a great weekend!!

As of Wednesday.....

I am back in the surgical boot. After breaking my toe over a month ago, I went back to the doctor on Wednesday and she told me I did not keep the toe from bending for long enough so it is not healing. Therefore, I need to wear the shoe again for the next 3.5 weeks. Yea, now I have to start school wearing the silly boot, and I am wearing it all day long. So annoying!! I've had it on since 9 am. My toe doesn't hurt anymore, so I hate wearing this!!!

On a side note, both girls were in bed by 8 pm. :~)

Time to exercise then clean the house.

Fannin/Haeck Family 2007

This picture was taken when we went down to Atlanta for Faithe's surprise 30th b-day.

One More :-)

Sarah

Bekah

Sarah

Bekah

4 MONTHS OLD!!!

Smiling (especially at Mom, Dad, and Bekah)
Laughing
Giggling
Cooing
Holding her head up
Sleeping from around 8:30-6 (average)
Still only sleeping around 30-45 minutes at a time during the day
Eating every 3-3.5 hours
Tooth poking through on the bottom left
We think she is about 15 pounds, will find out officially next week
Has only rolled over once from front to back with some assistance (she doesn't get as much time on the floor as Bekah did because of Bekah's toys, etc.)
Has a fussy time from around 4 pm till she goes to bed
Is sleeping in her crib in Bekah's room
Completely on the bottle and formula for about 2 weeks

The last 4 months have been wonderful.
I have been so blessed to be able to be home with my 2 beautiful daughters and hubby.
I have my first all day teacher thing this week, a day next week, and then officially go back completely on August 10th. I am not ready to leave my babies, but I am so glad that I know they will be in good hand with their daddy.
If anyone knows of a way for me to be able to stay home and still make my teaching salary, send it our way. :~) I will miss being home with my babies all day!!

Sarah's 3 month pictures

These were taken last week. Sarah is 4 months today, I know, but for a while JcPenney didn't have AC, so our appointment had to keep being moved. These turned out really great!! I was only disappointed because Bekah fell asleep and didn't wake up until after, (I wanted 1 picture with both of them, I guess it'll have to wait till Bekah's 3-year-old pictures) and the photographer had us hold her up a lot, which I think makes her look older. Oh well, she still looks beautiful and I am very happy with the pictures!!

Bekah Boo

Sarah's seat was on the floor because we needed all the chairs the other night. Bekah pulled it into the living room in front of the TV and proceeded to buckle herself in over and over again.

Big Chairs at Kentucky Horse Park

Visit from the Helwigs and Dylan

My parents, along with my nephew Dylan, came down on Thursday night, around 8:30 pm, and left right after we had lunch out following the early service today. By the time they got here Thursday night, Sarah was already in bed, so they got to see her Friday morning. After waiting for the UPS man to drop off a belated b-day gift my parents had shipped, we headed to the pool. We spent almost 3 hours at the pool. It was a blast.
On Saturday, around 9:30 am, we headed to The Kentucky Horse Park which was hosting Breyerfest. Breyerfest is a display of many different types of horses along with dog agility competitions, mounted police, petting zoo, pony rides, and pig races.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back next year!! The best part about it was that it only cost 80.00 for the 7 of us. It is 20.00 per adult and 6 and under are free!! Everyone gets a horse figure and horse key chain. The adult ones are smaller and more for display while the child ones are ones they can play with!! Well worth the cost of the adult tickets!! Thank Mom and Dad!!

We visited the petty zoo, Dylan rode a horse, watched the pig races, and watched the dog agility competition, but the highlights of the day for everyone were the miniature horses and watching Dylan try to jump over child size horse jumps. Bekah didn't want to leave the miniature horse show, and Dylan kept wanting to jump over the jumps.

All-in-all, it was a great day for being outside. We got home around 4, I think, cooked dinner, had a fire, roasted marshmallows, played cards, and went to bed.

After the early service this morning, we went to Macaroni Grill and then they left. They headed back to catch the Columbus Crew soccer game. It was great to see you Mom, Dad, and Dylan!! Thanks for visiting us!!

Relief

Both girls in bed at 8:15 pm. Thunder storming outside. Only 2 accidents today. Both poop in the panties. We have seen a huge improvement with the pee-pee though. She goes on the potty by herself when we ask her to go. She no longer seems interested in getting the stickers, she just goes because she knows she's supposed to. The last few times today when I told her to come pick her sticker, she told me to pick it and put it on her chart. :~)
Time to exercise before the hubby gets home in an hour and a half, or so.
Night.

Birthday Recap

The day started out with a nice breakfast in bed and cards from my hubby and girls.

When we went to get out of the house to go to Kohl's then to lunch, Bekah threw a fit!! She did not want to wear a pull-up and she would not try to go potty before we left. An hour later, we got out of the house still with a crying Bekah. (She ended up going potty after we finished lunch and she was still dry, so maybe she didn't have to go, but she wouldn't tell us that, she just threw a fit. Oh how I love almost 3 year olds.)

We went to lunch first because by the time we got out of the house it was 11:30 and we were both hungry. I had a king crab leg along with a spinach salad with grilled shrimp. We shared fried zucchini that were so yummy!!
We went to Kohl's after lunch and I ending up walking around by myself because both girls were asleep and we didn't want to wake them up. I got some fun stuff with the gift cards I got from the Haecks and the Fannins. Thanks!!

Later, after we got home, we shared some cheesecake and they sang happy birthday to me. Bekah eve helped me blow out the candles.

All-in-all, a good day. We didn't get to go to the pool because of Bekah's tantrum, but it ended up thunder storming anyway, so we would have been caught in the rain at the pool if we had been there. Thanks for all the Happy Birthday wishes!! They were greatly appreciated!!

Family Pics

Fannin Family Visitors

Bobby's parents, along with his sister Faithe and her husband Nathan, came in Thursday night by dinner time for a visit. Faithe and Nathan left yesterday, and Bob and Carol will be leaving this evening.
We did many funny things while they visited. On Friday we went out to an that Asbury College owns and did some hiking. The first part was a bit challenging but fun. (all straight down) The hardest part was when the trail narrowed and was really close to the edge. We went to the bottom near the Kentucky River and skipped some rocks. (I fed Sarah a bottle) Bobby only took videos of this, no pictures. Going back up was tiring, but the path was wide so you didn't have to worry about falling off.
On Saturday we ventured up to Petersburg, KY to the Creation Museum. There were many people there and most of the time we weren't moving around in a group, so we didn't get any pictures. It was very interesting. They have a beautiful outdoor area that Carol and Bekah ran around in while the rest of us finished up inside.

Daddy and His Girls

Visitor #1

Our friends Matt and Amy are away for a couple weeks visiting family, friends, and interviewing for a job in Minnesota. :( We are "babysitting" Amy's pet guinea pig, Peppy, during this time. Bekah has really been enjoying giving him treats and playing with him.

Potty Training Update

2 accidents yesterday. Both poop in her panties. Went on the potty at home and the mall. She has yet to tell us she has to go, but she does tell us she doesn't have to go, and she usually doesn't when she tells us. She was dry all night and went on the potty this morning. She got 3 stickers!!

Thankfulness

1. New Razr phone bought on e-bay to replace the one I washed.
2. Almost weaned from pumping, down to pumping once every 24 hours. It was just too hard to pump, feed, and take care of both girls while Bobby was at work. This means I am finally getting to wear a regular bra again. Sorry if this is TMI.
3. Sarah slept in her crib in Bekah's room for the first time last night. She slept from 9-6:30. The hardest part was getting them both to sleep around the same time without waking each other up. Bekah was put to bed at 8:00, but she kept turning her light on and laying on her bed, so when Sarah fell asleep at 8:25, I told Bekah to go sit on the couch. Sarah slept and Bekah finally fell asleep on the couch with me around 9. I didn't want her to stay in her room and disturb Sarah. Any suggestions for doing this better??

Edit: Bobby says that Sarah got up at 1:30 last night. I don't remember it. :~)
